Articling at Wards Lawyers

Build Big-City Skills in a Supportive, Real-World Practice

At Wards Lawyers, articling is more than a requirement—it’s the foundation of your legal career.

We offer hands-on legal work, meaningful client interaction, and direct mentorship in a setting where your contributions matter. Practicing in a smaller community means earlier responsibility, broader exposure, and the opportunity to build confidence quickly—while developing the skills and professionalism expected in larger urban centres.

For students looking to gain big-city calibre experience in a more supportive environment, Wards Lawyers offers a uniquely balanced articling experience.

Participants are encouraged to:

A Commitment to Growth

The articling experience at Wards Lawyers is designed to support the transition from law school to practice by helping students build confidence, manage client relationships, and develop habits that support long-term success.

In our firm, students are not on the sidelines—they are part of the team. They gain meaningful experience and develop practical skills that position them for success, whether their path leads to larger centres or continued practice in a close-knit community.

We don’t expect new lawyers to have all the answers.
We believe in giving them the tools and support to develop them.
