Personal Injury

Steady counsel when life changes in an instant.

If you’ve been injured, there may be benefits and compensation available to help you cope - medical and rehabilitation support, income replacement, care costs, and damages for pain and suffering, among other losses.

Clear, strategic personal injury representation for individuals and families across central east Ontario and beyond.

Built for the moment you didn’t plan for

An injury can impact everything at once: your health, your work, your independence, and your family’s day-to-day life. The legal and insurance process can feel like a second problem layered on top of the first.

We help you understand what you’re entitled to, what steps matter most right now, and how to protect your position as your recovery unfolds - always with clear communication, disciplined preparation, and real follow-through.

How we support your claim

We can help with:

  • Car and truck accidents

  • Motorcycle, ATV, and snowmobile accidents

  • Boating accidents

  • Injured cyclists and pedestrians

Insurance benefits claims

Ontario’s no-fault accident benefits can help cover treatment and support while you recover after a motor vehicle accident..

We guide you through the process and help you access the benefits you’re entitled to.

We can help with:

  • Accident benefits applications and disputes

  • Medical/rehabilitation and attendant care benefits

We can help with:

  • Wrongful death claims arising from vehicle accidents or other negligence

  • Claims for affected family members and dependants

Severe injury claims

Severe injuries require long-term planning and coordinated support. We work to secure medical care funding, compensation, and the resources you need.

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Brain injuries

  • Complex, life-altering injuries requiring ongoing support

Liability claims

When an injury happens because a person, business, or municipality failed to meet a duty of care, we work to recover damages.

We can help with:

  • Slip/trip and fall claims

  • Property hazards and building code issues

  • Municipal road/sidewalk claims

  • Dog bites and attacks

  • Defective products and tavern liability

Nursing home and elder abuse claims

We represent individuals and families

affected by abuse or neglect in long-term care or assisted living environments.

Disability claims

If long-term disability or CPP disability benefits are denied,

we assist with appeals to pursue the benefits you deserve.

Important timelines

In personal injury matters, deadlines can affect your ability to receive benefits or pursue fair compensation. Getting advice early helps protect your rights.

Common examples include:

Notifying your insurer of a motor vehicle accident within 7 days

Submitting an accident benefits application within required timelines (often tied to receiving claim forms)

Providing notice of a potential lawsuit in a vehicle accident within 120 days in certain circumstances

Limitation periods that are often 2 years from the date of injury (with variations depending on the claim type)

Snow/ice claims that may require written notice within 60 days

Claims involving municipalities or road authorities that may require notice in 10 days or less

If you miss a notice requirement or limitation period, you may lose your right to pursue the claim. Contact us as soon as possible so we can assess what applies and act quickly.

Connecting clients with our community

We’re rooted in Kawartha Lakes, and that matters in recovery. We can help coordinate care and connect you with local practitioners and services that support rehabilitation and long-term planning - such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and case managers.

We stay actively involved with your treatment team so we understand your needs and can pursue the right resources to support your recovery. We practise here with care for the people and place we serve.

No legal fees until we settle or win

We understand the financial pressure that can follow a serious injury. Personal injury services are available on a contingency fee basis - meaning you do not pay legal fees unless we recover compensation for you.

  • Our standard contingency fee is 1/3 (33.33%)
  • This is the maximum we will charge for legal fees relating to your personal injury case

You can obtain more information about contingency fees through the Law Society of Ontario.
