Important timelines
In personal injury matters, deadlines can affect your ability to receive benefits or pursue fair compensation. Getting advice early helps protect your rights.
Common examples include:
Notifying your insurer of a motor vehicle accident within 7 days
Submitting an accident benefits application within required timelines (often tied to receiving claim forms)
Providing notice of a potential lawsuit in a vehicle accident within 120 days in certain circumstances
Limitation periods that are often 2 years from the date of injury (with variations depending on the claim type)
Snow/ice claims that may require written notice within 60 days
Claims involving municipalities or road authorities that may require notice in 10 days or less
If you miss a notice requirement or limitation period, you may lose your right to pursue the claim. Contact us as soon as possible so we can assess what applies and act quickly.
Connecting clients with our community
We’re rooted in Kawartha Lakes, and that matters in recovery. We can help coordinate care and connect you with local practitioners and services that support rehabilitation and long-term planning - such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and case managers.
We stay actively involved with your treatment team so we understand your needs and can pursue the right resources to support your recovery. We practise here with care for the people and place we serve.
No legal fees until we settle or win
We understand the financial pressure that can follow a serious injury. Personal injury services are available on a contingency fee basis - meaning you do not pay legal fees unless we recover compensation for you.
-
Our standard contingency fee is 1/3 (33.33%)
-
This is the maximum we will charge for legal fees relating to your personal injury case
You can obtain more information about contingency fees through the Law Society of Ontario.
